YOUR BILLY BOARD NEEDS YOU!
Several current members will be completing their terms in the next several months and stepping down. The Board will need at least four new members by May. People with prior board experience are much appreciated but absolutely not required. It takes many skills, qualities, and talents to make our organization work—all are honored!
The Billy Foundation is firmly committed to reflecting the diversity of our community and Billys of color are especially requested to reach out!
What’s in it for you?
You learn, grow and deepen friendships with your fellow Billys.
You get your voice heard, increase self-empowerment and contribute your skills and talents.
You gain skills such as consensus decision-making, communications, fundraising, event production and fiscal stewardship.
You enjoy camaraderie, personal satisfaction of giving back to our community, and maybe even reap some good karma.
What’s the commitment?
Billy Board meetings are held once each month using Zoom video conference, and are now only approximately 2 hours long. We have recently made Billy Board meetings more pleasurable and breezy.
Board terms are two years, with the option to extend.
Members participate in at least one committee that meets at least once per month.
Everyone makes a financial donation of their choice during the annual fundraising campaign.
Board members commit to five to ten hours per month.
What can I do next?
Have an exploratory conversation with a board member listed below.
Attend an online board meeting. The meetings are announced in advance on the Billy Bulletin and thebillys.org/events/category/boardmeetings.
Join a board committee, and then consider joining the board in the future.
