Sunday Afternoon Delight
June 6, 2021 @ 3:00 pm – 5:00 pm
Looking for something fun to do on a Sunday afternoon? Join Phat and Alfredo on the virtual porch, every week from 3-5.
Hang out with old friends and meet new ones. Enjoy informal conversations about this and that. Have a mug of coffee or a delicate cup of tea. Show us your delicious treats. Come at the beginning or drop in later. Breeze in and out or stay the whole time. Come as you are or dress to the hilt; just bring your fabulous self. For Billys and Billykin of all Genders.
This week in our themed break-out room, we’re excited to host EFFECTIVE COMMUNICATIONS STRATEGIES, the last of four informative sessions about Alzheimer’s Disease presented by Gene Girimonte, a volunteer community educator for the Alzheimer’s Association. Gene was the primary caregiver for his husband, who lived and died with Alzheimer’s.
This final session teaches caregivers to decode verbal and behavioral communication by someone with Alzheimer’s and other dementias. Participants leave with strategies for meaningful connection with people in early, middle and late stage dementia.
